Mount Baldy/ Top of the Notch
This mountain driving tour takes us on incredible Porsche roads. Glendora Ridge Road is one of the best kept secrets in Southern California - 12 miles of paved, twisting, low-traffic road nestled in the San Gabriel Mountains. Did I mention 234 curves in those 12 miles? What’s striking about this road is its simultaneous desolation and nearness to the Pomona Valley. This road is only 30 minutes from downtown Los Angeles.

We eventually arrive at Mt Baldy where we will take the lift to the Top of the Notch. The Notch boasts some of Southern California’s most beautiful vistas from its elevation of 7800 ft. The Notch gets its name from its position at the top of San Antonio Canyon and the Lytle Creek Watershed area. With is unique position comes spectacular views of the Pacific Ocean, with Catalina Island to the south and the Mojave Desert to the north.

You have the option of having lunch at the Top of the Notch or at the Mt Baldy Lodge just a couple of miles down the road. By far the most popular establishment at Mt Baldy, the Lodge was built in 1914, is family owned and maintains much of its original rustic charm. Arnold Schwarzenegger enjoyed ice cream with his onscreen daughter Alyssa Milano at Mt Baldy Lodge when it was used in a scene for the 1985 movie
Commando.

This tour is offered Friday and Saturday. There is a $35 fee for parking and tram tickets per participant. Lunch is on your own. There is a limit of 100 participants per day.
